Chris loved the beautiful sand at Lake Michigan enough to ask me to take a picture of his foot covered in it. So fun!

A rare picture of me, holding Jacob. Boy, was I grateful for my wetsuit – cold, windy, and wet isn’t my ideal day at the beach, but we had fun. What was weirdest for me? The water isn’t salty like I expect when it looks like the ocean – it’s a fresh water lake.

Finally a non-cheesy smile out of Chris. What is he so gleeful about? He’s making ‘Poop’ out of the sand and throwing ‘Poop’-bombs at everyone. Potty humor is hilarious at his age.
Brooke can’t resist posing, even in the lake. She had a blast in the waves (tiny compared to ocean waves, but fun)
Alex didn’t want to get out of the water, no matter how blue his lips were. He loved the beach.
Tim, brandishing beach weapons toys at me.

Jacob scowling at the cold water that dared to sneak up on him and soak him when he wasn’t looking.

A view of the stormy lake and three kids having a blast in the water, regardless.
We’ll have to go back again when it’s sunny. I spent my teen years in California, and miss the beach. This is as close as I can get in Michigan.
