Have you ever read this book -
The Story About Ping by Marjorie Flack and Kurt Wiese
It’s a great classic about a little duck who plays too long, and when the man on the boat calls, “La, la, la, la, li”, he’s the last one back and gets a swat. The next time, he’s last again, so he decides to escape punishment and not come back at all. After being lost for a while, he’s grateful to finally find his boat again, even if he gets a swat when he’s last.
Well, we started calling the kids to prayer with “La, la, la, la, li” and occasionally a particulary slow kids gets a swat. The kids’ favorite is when Mom or Dad is last, and gets a swat.
